The Julana Assembly constituency in Haryana is going to be the watched election battle as the counting for the 2024 Assembly polls in Haryana is underway. With two widely popular personalities — wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Congress and Captain Yogesh Bairagi from BJP — contesting against each other, the results for the Julana Assembly seat is much awaited.
BJP candidate from Ambala Cantt Assembly seat Anil Vij said, “BJP is leading in the elections and they (Congress) are celebrating because many people in the Congress party want Bhupinder Singh Hooda to lose the elections…I will accept the mandate of the public. If the high command wants, I will be the Chief Minister.”
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is leading from Ladwa constituency seat.
Former CM and Congress candidate Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, “As per the current trends, Congress is going to form the government…the party will decide the CM face…Congress will bring its own majority…credit goes to party, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, all party leaders and people of Haryana…”
On Haryana and J&K Assembly election result trends, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhury says, “We knew about this and it was supposed to happen. The foundational thing that Rahul Gandhi said, the opinion we kept forward, people accepted it. No matter what BJP says…we are winning.''
On Haryana election result trends, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “When I came back from the Haryana election campaign I had told that BJP will have a grand victory in Haryana…under the leadership of PM Modi, work for the welfare of every community is happening, the result of this was clearly visible in Haryana…Congress was boasting for no reason…BJP sought votes based on our work…now Congress has gone to 3rd position and BJP is moving towards victory…no matter how much Congress tries to divide the country, their intentions won’t get fulfilled…”
Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda asserted that his party would form the government on its own in Haryana, even as trends showed the BJP crossing the half-way mark. Speaking to reporters in Rohtak, Hooda, the former chief minister, said the Congress “will get a majority”.
Wrestler and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat won the Julana Assembly election as counting for the seat took place on Tuesday. According to the Election Commission website, Phogat won by 6,015 votes, defeating Yogesh Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
With the BJP poised for a comfortable win, leading in 50 out of 90 assembly seats, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and congratulated him on the BJP’s historic victory in the state. As per the latest trends, the BJP is set for a hat-trick of wins in the state, while the Congress is trailing after dramatic turnaround.
Reacting to his victory from the Ladwa seat, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini said, “I want to thank the people of Ladwa and the 2.80 crore population of Haryana. The credit for this victory goes to PM Modi. The people of Haryana have put a stamp on the policies of PM Modi.”
Union Minister and former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said the BJP created a record in the state by winning the assembly polls for a third consecutive time. “The people have rejected the Congress party. The public has given this message that the policies of PM Modi had a positive impact on the people of the state. This is a record in Haryana that a party has come to power for the third time,” he said.
As the BJP looks set for a hat-trick of wins in Haryana, there won’t be any change of guard as the party has decided to stay with Nayab Singh Saini as Chief Minister, claimed sources. As per the latest trend, the BJP is leading on 50 seats, defying exit polls, while the Congress is trailing.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday linked the BJP’s performance in the Haryana Assembly elections to victory of ‘development politics and good governance.’ He further expressed his gratitude to the people of Haryana for giving a clear majority to the party for a third consecutive time.
“Heartfelt gratitude from Haryana! I salute the people of Haryana for giving a clear majority to the Bharatiya Janata Party once again. This is the victory of the politics of development and good governance. I assure the people here that we will leave no stone unturned to fulfil their aspirations,” PM Modi wrote on X.
As the latest trends showed a comfortable victory for the BJP in Haryana, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a sharp jibe at Rahul Gandhi by saying that the state has taught him a lesson.
