Blood stains, 200 pieces of evidence: Chargesheet filed against actor Darshan

The evidence collected by the police in the murder case against Kannada actor Darshan includes a photograph allegedly retrieved from the phone of an accused, where Renukaswamy can be seen pleading to the accused not to beat him.

The Bengaluru Police filed a chargesheet against Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in connection with murder of his fan Renukaswamy on Wednesday.

Darshan, who was arrested in the murder case, is in judicial custody till September 9.

Renukaswamy, 33, an auto driver, was found dead near a flyover in Bengaluru on June 9. According to the police, Renukaswamy was kidnapped and murdered by a gang based on Darshan's direction, after Renukaswamy allegedly sent offensive messages to Darshan’s friend, actor Pavithra Gowda, on social media.

The police have collected over 200 pieces of circumstantial evidence in the case, including forensic reports of bloodstains on the clothes of Darshan and other accused.

The evidence also includes a photograph from the crime scene, where Renukaswamy can be seen pleading to the accused not to beat him, CCTV footage of Darshan, and bloodstains found on actor Pavithra Gowda's footwear, which she allegedly used to assault Renukaswamy.

Renukaswamy's postmortem report revealed that he was brutally beaten and given electric shocks. His body had multiple bruise marks, a missing ear and ruptured testicles.

Darshan and Pavithra Gowda, along with 15 others, have been arrested by the police in connection with Renukaswamy's murder.
