Shiv Kumar, the man accused of fatally shooting NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai, told investigators that he fired six rounds from an Australian Glock pistol, three of which struck Siddique.

The shooter, who was arrested on Sunday in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich, revealed to the police a sophisticated crime plan, which also involved using multiple SIM cards and new mobile phones before and after the killing, sources said.

Kumar also confessed to his association with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and disclosed that each of the three shooters had separate handlers. Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shiva were managed by Shubham Lonkar, while Gurmel Singh's handler was identified as Yasin Akhtar, according to sources.

Sources further revealed that Shubham Lonkar was responsible for recruiting the shooters, as well as arranging weapons and logistics under the direction of Lawrence Bishnoi and Anmol.

Following the murder on October 12, the three shooters had planned to reconvene at the Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shiv Kumar was arrested while attempting to flee to Nepal with the help of Anurag Kashyap, the brother of shooter Dharmaraj Kashyap. Mumbai Police also arrested four individuals who had provided shelter to Kumar, including Anurag Kashyap.

Former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, 66, was gunned down by three assailants on October 12 outside the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, in Bandra East, Mumbai. He suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Immediately after the murder, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the killing.
