Without mentioning the BJP by name, Actor Prakash Raj said on Sunday that those who have done 420 (fraud) are talking about winning 400 seats in the upcoming general elections.

Speaking at the Chikkamangalur Press Club in Karnataka, Prakash Raj said, "Only those who have done 420 will speak about getting 400 seats. Be it any party, the Congress or any other party, this reflects your arrogance."

Taking a veiled dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claims that the NDA would return to power with over 400 seats, the actor said that there is "no chance" that a single party can win 400 or more seats "in a democracy".

"You can only win a seat if it is being given to you by the people. No political party can claim that they can go ahead and take the seats. It will be called arrogance," Prakash Raj said.

PM Modi had said in the Rajya Sabha on February 5 that the NDA would return to power with over 400 seats.

Replying to the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in Lok Sabha, PM Modi said, "Our third tenure is not far away, a maximum of 100-125 days are left. The entire nation is saying 'abki baar, 400 paar'. Even Kharge ji said that."

PM Modi was referring to Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge's remark in Rajya Sabha on February 2, wherein he said that the BJP, which already has a majority, is going for 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He also said that the BJP alone would get 370 seats, and the NDA bloc would get 400 seats.
