Is the afterlife real? The question of what’s beyond death has intrigued mankind for centuries. But this woman who technically passed away for 27 minutes believes “Heaven is real.” Hailing from Arizona, Tina Hines collapsed after suffering from a cardiac arrest in February 2018. Her husband performed CPR to resuscitate Tina but to no avail. The woman reportedly turned blue and lifeless before the paramedics arrived at the scene. En route to a medical facility, the first responders made several attempts to bring her back to life. But it wasn’t until she was shocked with a defibrillator at the hospital that her heart began to beat again.
According to the Christian Broadcasting Network, the doctors explained to her family that people don’t survive after 5-10 minutes of no oxygen supply to the brain. But since Tina made it back after almost 27 minutes she was likely to suffer from brain injuries or life-threatening complications. She was immediately induced into a coma to allow her body to relax. Upon waking up the next day, she reportedly scribbled an ominous message about the afterlife. The ICU waiting room was filled with friends and family when doctors warned she may not be able to speak.
A pen and book were passed to the patient and it was at that moment that she wrote “It’s real” in illegible handwriting. It took the family members several moments to decipher her text before her husband asked, “What’s it’s real? The pain? The hospital?” She reportedly nodded “No” but when her daughter asked if she meant “Heaven?” Tina immediately nodded “Yes.”
Even though doctors thought she wouldn’t be able to talk, Tina said, “Right behind Jesus standing there was this incredible glow. It was the most vibrant and beautiful yellow.”
To this day, Tina thanks her lucky stars for being able to tell her story. “God chose to save my life with a miracle, to show his kindness, goodness, and love. 27 minutes without a breath, until our Heavenly Father breathed life back into me…and on the following day, (2/13/18), He allowed me to share about His exquisite beauty and grace, after coming out of a coma,” she recalled the incident in an old post on Instagram
