Watch: Air Force's Tejas aircraft crashes in Rajasthan, pilot ejects safely

An LCA Tejas aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer today. The pilot ejected safely before the accident.

An LCA Tejas aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer today. The pilot ejected safely before the accident.

The accident took place in Jawahar Nagar. In a brief statement on X, the IAF said, "One Tejas aircraft of the Indian Air Force met with an accident at Jaisalmer, today during an operational training sortie. The pilot ejected safely.

"A Court of Inquiry has been constituted to find out the cause of the accident," it added.

A video from the accident site shows thick, black smoke billowing out of the crashed aircraft, while police are trying to move people away from the spot.

Meanwhile, a Court of Inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident.

The crash occurred during an operational training sortie.
