Video: Several injured after shed collapses in Bihar during religious event

A dilapidated shed of a building collapsed in Bihar's Saran district, following which several people, who were witnessing a dance performance at a religious procession, sustained injuries.

Several people were injured after a dilapidated shed of a building collapsed on September 3 (Tuesday) in Bihar's Saran district.

According to the police, the incident happened when people were standing on the shed and watching dance performances during the Mahavir Akhara procession in the Ishauvpur block of the district.

After the incident, the injured people were rushed to a government-run hospital in the district, where they were receiving treatment.

A video of the incident showed the people coming down suddenly as the dilapidated shed collapsed.

Earlier last month, at least 40 people were injured after the wall of a house collapsed on them in Patna. The incident happened in Shripalpur area on the outskirts of Patna when a religious function was going on there, a senior officer said. The majority of the injured are women.

“At least 40 people were injured when the wall of a house collapsed on them in Shripalpur under the Punpun Police Station limits. The house belongs to Neeraj Kumar of Shripalpur area. When the incident took place, a religious function was going on in Kumar’s residence,” Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeev Mishra told PTI.
