Truck driver in Telangana kidnaps girl, 6, rapes and murders her

JJ News Desk

A six-year-old girl was kidnapped by a truck driver from Uttar Pradesh before she was raped and killed in Telangana's Peddapalli district on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 11 pm when the minor was sleeping outside a rice mill with her mother, who works as a labourer. The girl was kidnapped by the accused, Balram.

CCTV footage showed Balram carrying the minor on his shoulder and walking along in a near pitch-dark area before he committed the crime. Balram took the minor to nearby bushes and sexually assaulted her before killing her.

When the victim's mother woke up at midnight, she found that her daughter had gone missing. Concerned about her whereabouts, she alerted her fellow labourers and began searching for her. The party found the girl's body in the bushes.

The labourers, along with locals, later caught hold of Balram and handed him over to the police.

A case was registered and the victim's body was taken to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police were conducting a further investigation into the incident.
