This family’s ‘no-phone pact’ is inspired by ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’. Zomato reacts

A woman named Manju Gupta decided to implement a 'no-phone pact' which, if broken, would result in a month-long ban on the food delivery services Zomato and Swiggy.

In a move to curb smartphone addiction within her household, Manju Gupta introduced a family agreement that puts a unique spin on phone usage discipline. Tired of the constant screen time and lack of personal interaction, Gupta decided to implement a set of rules that, if broken, would result in a month-long ban from the food delivery services Zomato and Swiggy.

The agreement, shared on X, has captured the attention of many online, was formalised on non-judicial stamp paper and outlines three primary rules for the Gupta family. The first rule encourages members to start their day by looking at the sun instead of their phone screens. The second rule fosters family unity by mandating that all members eat together at the dining table, with phones kept at least 20 steps away. The third rule is aimed at reducing wasted time in the bathroom by prohibiting the use of phones for activities like watching Instagram Reels there.

Manju Gupta's approach was after her children showed her Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’. After watching the film, she was convinced that her children were too much into the ‘likes’ craze. The agreement has been signed by all four members of the Gupta family.

Zomato also replied to the post with a funny comment. “Mujhe kyun toda?” the company wrote taking a cue from the popular meme churned out of the film Welcome.

The image of the agreement shared online has gone viral. While it has amused a large audience, some skeptics question its authenticity, suggesting it might be a clever marketing ploy for Netflix.
