One jawan was injured after terrorists attacked a security post in the Gundha area of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, early on Monday.
Sources said the Army camp which was attacked by nearly three Pakistani terrorists is located near the residence of a village Defence Group member, who was recently awarded Shaurya Chakra for his role in an anti-terror operation in the same area in 2023.
However, the attempt was foiled by the Army.
The attack happened at nearly 4 am, after which a nearby column retaliated, the Army said, adding, the operations were still underway.
According to news agency PTI, security forces launched a cordon and search operation after terrorists fired in the Gundha area of Rajouri.
On July 19, two terrorists were killed as security forces foiled an infiltration attempt at the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Keran sector.
Earlier, two soldiers were injured in an encounter with terrorists in the Kastigarh area of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The encounter came days after four army soldiers, including an officer, were killed while battling terrorists in the Doda encounter.
