A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped and impregnated by her 16-year-old brother in Gujarat's Surat district, police said.

The incident came to light when her mother took her to a nearby hospital after the girl complained of stomach pain. The doctor confirmed a three-month pregnancy.

During questioning, the girl told her mother that her elder brother asked her to have sex with him. When the girl refused, the accused raped her twice and threatened to kill her if she told her parents.

After the incident, the girl's mother filed a case against the boy on September 30.

According to the police, the parents worked as labourers and used to leave home every morning for work and both their children used to stay alone at home.

The girl, who studies in class 8, complained of stomach pain in school and was taken to a hospital by her mother, where the doctor confirmed three months of pregnancy, police said.

In July this year, a nine-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and murdered by her 13-year-old brother after watching porn on a mobile phone in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district.

According to the Madhya Pradesh Police, after the incident, the teen's mother and sisters, aged 17 and 18, helped in the cover-up,

The police detained the victim's brother, their mother and sisters after interrogation of 50 people, intense questioning of the accused persons and based on technical evidence.
