At least 4 dead, 20 injured after explosion at Andhra Pradesh pharma firm

A reactor explosion at the Escientia Company in Atchutapuram Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Andhra Pradesh left more than 18 people critically injured today.

The incident occurred during the lunch hour, catching many employees off guard.

Visuals from the spot showed an ambulance being rushed into the company's premises. People are seen covering their noses as grey smoke surrounds the site.

The injured have been shifted to Anakapalli NTR Hospital and a nearby private hospital for medical treatment.

Emergency services, including police and firefighters, are at the spot.

A fire official said 10 people have been rescued so far and have sustained injuries in the blast.

Efforts are on to evacuate people trapped in the building after reactor explosion.
