Bokaro SP Priyadarshi Alok said, “A case of unnatural death has been lodged. Police are trying to ascertain the reason behind the step.”

“The school administration has informed her family about the incident,” he added.

A government school principal in Haryana's Jind district was dismissed from service over allegations of sexual harassment of over 100 girl students. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar ordered the termination following the investigation report. The report highlighted statements from several students against the principal's misconduct. The accused principal was arrested earlier this month for indulging in obscene acts with the female students. A woman principal was appointed to the school and some staff were transferred. The principal was booked under various provisions of the law including the IPC and the POCSO Act.

A visually impaired nine-year-old student was allegedly raped by a 56-year-old watchman at the Government Children with Special Needs (CWSN) Hostel in Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh. The Child Welfare Committee in Sagar is investigating the incident after the girl's mother filed a complaint. The accused, identified as Omprakash Tiwari, has been taken into custody and charged under the POCSO Act. The hostel currently houses 14 children, while the others have returned home. The victim's identity remains confidential per Supreme Court directives.

A farmer in Chhattisgarh ended his life due to harassment and police thrashing, as stated in a suicide note. The note alleges that the police in Fingeshwar demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh to silence a theft case. The head constable of Fingeshwar police station, Duleshwar Baghel, has been removed due to his suspected involvement. The police are investigating the case from all angles, including enmity, involvement of relatives, and harassment by the neighboring police station. The farmer, Rajaram Nishad, had a well-to-do family and was not in need of stealing.
