Passenger Finds Cockroach In Meal Served On Vande Bharat Express, IRCTC Responds

A passenger travelling in the Vande-Bharat Express from Bhopal to Gwalior found a cockroach in the meal served, the image goes viral.

Passengers carrying food from their home during a train journey has been a tradition in our society since years, even today, many people prefer to take meal from their home despite railway serving all kinds of Veg and Non-veg meal to consume on your seats today. 

The reasons for the above activity are many but the main reason behind this is not having trust on the quality of food served on trains. This low trust by the travelers has yet again proved to be right when a passenger took it to twitter to make a complaint to railways about a cockroach that was found in the meal served to him during his journey.  

When and where the incident happened?

The incident took place on 24th July 2023, when the passenger was traveling from Bhopal to Gwalior in Vande-Bharat Express.

He was shocked after seeing a cockroach in his meal served by the IRCTC on the train. Taking on the matter to Twitter, the passenger shared some images which showed a small cockroach being stuck in one of the roti’s. “Found a cockroach in my food, in the Vande Bharat train,” wrote the Twitter user as he tagged IRCTC. 

Since being uploaded, the images have gone viral. Many people expressed their shock and displeasure. On this incident the Railway Seva has responded to the complaint and issued an apology for the unpleasant experience of the passenger and replied, “We did not intend for this unpleasant experience. Appropriate actions will be taken to ensure that such incidents will not repeat. Request you to share your PNR and mobile number preferably in Direct Message (DM) with us".
