Pakistani TikTok star Minahil Malik has been going viral again on social media, this time for her dance video she posted back in August. In the now-viral video, Malik is dances energetically to Megan Thee Stallion’s song. The video carries a simple yet apt caption: “Because it’s trending." She completed her Instagram post with a heart emoticon.

Malik shared the dance video on August 1, where she dances to the song “Mamushi", dressed in blue jeans, a black top, and black shades. It has since clocked over 4.1 million views and counting. People are searching for this particular video with a combination of keywords – “Pakistani TikTok Viral Video", with top searches from the Indian states. These include Bihar, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Haryana.

Minahil Malik went viral in October this year after a video featuring intimate moments with her boyfriend surfaced online. While some believed the leak was a publicity stunt, others expressed sympathy for her during this tough period.

After the MMS went viral, Pakistani actor Mishi Khan criticised Malik, and accused her of “stooping to the lowest level" for fame. While she didn’t name her directly, the time when she shared the video and references she made were directed at her.

In the video, condemned the spread of vulgarity and likened the situation to a scene from the Bollywood film Heroine, in which the character played by Kareena Kapoor Khan leaked her explicit video to gain popularity before the release of her film.

“Shameful to see these influencers stooping to the lowest level for fame & disgracing their families, parents & the society. They should be banned from using social media," Khan wrote in the caption.

After receiving both backlash and support online, Malik released a statement on Instagram: “It was not easy for me but I’m done. It’s hard to say goodbye. No fights. Spread love. I’m leaving. I will miss you. I love you. Take care."

This, at the time of writing this report, was the last post on her Instagram account. She has since maintained her distance from social media.
