Next 40 days crucial, India may see surge in Covid-19 cases, say sources

JJ News Desk

With foreign returnees testing positive for Covid across the world and China grappling with a fresh spurt in virus cases and strain in its healthcare system, most countries are bringing in travel restrictions. Hospitals across India conducted a Covid-19 mock drill on December 27 to ensure preparedness to combat the spread of infections.

The government is likely to make negative RT-PCR reports mandatory for passengers arriving from China and five other places from next week, PTI reported, citing official sources.

The next 40 days are going to be crucial as India may see a surge of Covid-19 cases in mid January going by previous trends
official sources said, as reported by ANI.
