Man tries to jump from 14th floor of Noida building, saved by residents

Timely intervention by alert residents saved the life of a man who attempted suicide in a Noida society on Monday. The man is mentally unstable and undergoing treatment, the police said.

The man, 21, attempted to jump from the balcony of his rented apartment on the fourteenth floor of Supertech Capetown Society in Noida Sector 74.

Residents, noticing the situation, immediately intervened and prevented the tragedy.

A video of the incident, captured by a resident, shows the man barely hanging by the balcony. Two people come from behind and rescue him.

According to the police, the man had previously lived with his family in society before moving to Sector 41, Noida. On the day of the incident, he arrived at Supertech Capetown without informing his family and attempted suicide.

The police were notified at around 10.30 am. When they arrived, they confirmed the man’s mental illness and ongoing treatment. His family, who also acknowledged his mental instability, took him back home.

Authorities have confirmed that the situation is under control, and no further action is being taken.
