JJ News Desk

The Mumbai Police has arrested three people in connection with the murder of a history-sheeter in a spa in Worli. The murder victim had tattooed the names of 22 people on his thigh, his alleged enemies, which led the police to the suspects.

Guru Waghmare, 48, was killed at Soft Touch Spa in central Mumbai's Worli in the early hours of Wednesday.

The police detained four people from Nalasopara and Rajasthan's Kota, on the charge of murdering Waghmare. Out of these four, the police arrested two and are questioning the others.

Among the people arrested was Santosh Sherekar, the spa owner, whose name was on Waghmare's body.

According to the police, Sherekar gave Rs 6 lakh to one Mohammed Feroze Ansari to murder Waghmare.

According to a PTI report, Waghmare had filed complaint against Sherekar's spa and allegedly sought extortion money from him to withdraw the complaints. Sherekar then contacted Ansari to eliminate Waghmare.

At around 2 am, all three workers of the spa went out. After this, two people entered the spa and killed Waghmare by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon.

According to the police, a total of four people have been apprehended, adding that they are also probing the role of Waghmare’s girlfriend.
