JJ News Desk

In a defiant show of daredevilry, a young man dangerously rode a motorbike on the road divider in Tamil Nadu's Trichy, flouting norms, a video showed.

In the video that has gone viral on social media, the youngster was seen riding his motorbike atop the road divider on the Kollidam river bridge in Trichy, risking his own life as well as those of fellow motorists as there was heavy vehicular movement on both sides of the road.

On May 23, on the occasion of the ‘Mutharaiyar Sathaya Vizha’ or birth anniversary of Perumbidugu Muthuraiyar, several youngsters from the community paid their tributes by garlanding his statue in Trichy. They also took out a motorbike procession.

Despite police restrictions, according to locals, many youngsters reportedly performed bike stunts and indulged in over-speeding on the roads.

After the video went viral on various social media platforms, many locals have been demanding the police take strict action against the man for his dangerous bike stunt.

This came a week after a video of a man dangerously riding a bike with a woman on his lap on a flyover in Bengaluru went viral on social media. The duo were traced by the police after they took note of the viral video.

In the undated clip, the woman was seen sitting one-sided on the biker's lap and had her hands wrapped around his neck. The incident reportedly took place on the Hebbal flyover in north Bengaluru.
