Man caught with Rs 14 lakh cash concealed inside shirt in Tamil Nadu

A man was caught at the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border with Rs 14 lakh hidden in his clothing, breaching the Lok Sabha Elections' Model Code of Conduct.

Authorities have caught a man carrying Rs 14 lakh inside his clothing at Tamil Nadu, in violation of the Model Code of Conduct of the Lok Sabha Elections, officials said on Monday.

As per the Model Code of Conduct, an individual is allowed to carry only Rs 50,000 and needs necessary documentation for any denomination being carried above the permitted amount.

Kerala is set to go to the polls on April 26 to elect its Lok Sabha MPs. Ahead of the voting, officials have intensified checking along the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.
