JJ News Desk

A Kerala man was found hanging from the ceiling fan of a compartment on the Karaikal Express on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened at Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) in Baiyappanahalli.

The death of the 45-year-old man prompted the segregation of the coach, leading to a three-hour delay in the train.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) has filed a case of unnatural death under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

It seems that he hanged himself between 3 am and 3.30 am when the train was vacant.

According to the unreserved ticket found from the deceased's belongings, he travelled from Thrissur to Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) Bengaluru station on January 16 and then to Mysuru.
