Kannada Star Nagabhushana Hits Couple on Footpath With His Car, Woman Dies; Actor Arrested

Kannada star Nagabhushana allegedly rammed into a couple walking on the footpath in Bengaluru. It has been reported that the accident on Saturday night and the woman died shortly after the accident while the man is undergoing surgery. An FIR has been lodged against Nagabhushana for speeding and negligent driving. Nagabhushana is yet to issue a statement about the incident.

According to India Today, the accident took place at 9:45 pm. Nagabhushana rammed into the couple walking on the footpath at the Vasantha Pura main road. It is said that the Tagaru Palya actor was travelling from Uttarahalli to Konanakunte when the incident took place. Nagabhushana allegedly ran into the couple first and then hit an electric pole. After the accident, Nagabhushana allegedly took the couple to the hospital.

However, the woman, identified as Prema who was 48 years old, died on the way while the man, identifed as Krishna who is 58, has suffered injuries to the legs, head and stomach. The FIR has been lodged at the Kumaraswamy traffic police station. A PTI report added that the actor has been arrested.

Who is Nagabhushana?

The Kannada actor made his debut in 2018 with Sankashta Kara Ganapathi. He has starred in several movies since then. These include Kousalya Supraja Rama, Daredevil Musthafa, Badava Rascal, Ikkat, Made In China and others. Last year, he also won the Best Debutant Actor at SIIMA Award for his film Ikkat.
