JJ News Desk

Several people were feared trapped after a massive fire broke out at a mall in Kolkata on Friday.

Upon receiving an alert about the fire at Kolkata's Acropolis Mall, at least ten fire tenders were rushed by the fire department to douse the blaze.

Fire department officials were also vacating people from offices that operate from inside the mall.

The exact source of the fire is still unknown, fire department officials said. Several videos showed people rushing out of the mall after the fire broke out.

This is the second such incident in the city since Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, a massive fire also broke out at a restaurant in Kolkata's Park Street area. Several fire tenders reached the spot to extinguish the fire. The fire incident caused chaos in the busy market. However, the local police and fire brigade officials controlled the situation.
