New Delhi: It’s been 74 years to the India’s Republic Day, the day when India adopted its Constitution and this year it will complete its 75 years. With evolution taking place in a first pace, the government officials have also decided to adopt changes for India’s Republic Day Celebrations.Here’s the List of All Those Changes Adopted by the Government1. The celebrations for Republic Day will begin from 23rd January instead of 24th January. This is been done to mark the Neta Ji Subhas Chandra Bose’s Birth Anniversary, a man of profound Knowledge and credible intelligence who played the remarkable role in getting India’s Independence from British Raj.On 125th birth anniversary of Neta Ji Subas Chandra Bose, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that a “grand statue” of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be installed beneath the empty canopy at India Gate which has been vacant since 1968 when the statue of King George V was removed and taken to Coronation Park in northwest Delhi.2. Abide With Me, a decades-old staple tune at the Beating Retreat ceremony and said to be a favourite of Mahatma Gandhi will not be played on January 29 and replaced by ‘Aae Mere Vatan Ke Logon’However, the decision was taken in 2020, but couldn’t been implemented due to criticism government faced by the opposition.3. The government this year also took the decision of merging and extinguishing Amar Jawan Jyoti with National War Memorial, aimed to create one common site to pay homage to the martyrs.The move saw a massive criticism from opposition and some veteran war leaders, who said that the generation grew up saluting the Jawans over there.Additional Changes Owing to Pandemic & Foggy Weather ConditionsThe parade will begin at 10.30am, instead of the traditional timing of 10am, for better visibility to the parade and the fly past.The guest list and parade have been cut short this year due to Covid. Approximately 24,000 people will be allowed to attend the Republic Day parade this year, because of the Covid situation in Delhi.Before the pandemic erupted, in the 2020 parade, around 1.25 lakh people were permitted at Rajpath.
