Girl, 9, found dead in Bengaluru housing society pool, electrocution suspected

A nine-year-old girl was found dead in the swimming pool of a residential complex in Bengaluru on Thursday. The parents of the girl suspected electrocution as the cause of her death.

The body of a nine-year-old girl was found in the swimming pool of a residential complex in Bengaluru on Thursday. The victim was identified as a Class 4 student and the daughter of a private firm employee.

According to the details, the incident happened at the Prestige Lakeside Habitat complex, wherein the family of the girl resided.

The incident took place at nearly 7.30 pm on Thursday.

The girl was rushed to a hospital as soon as residents of the housing society spotted her body. However, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

A complaint in connection with the case was filed, which stated that she was playing with a few other children at the time of the incident.

The parents of the girl suspected electrocution as the reason behind her death.

Meanwhile, residents of the apartment staged protests against the management alleging misadministration leading to the death of the minor.

The body was shifted for postmortem and the report is awaited.

Further investigations into the case are underway.
