Egyptian Man Visits All 7 Wonders Of The World In Less Than A Week, Sets World Record

Chetna Shree

According to the Guinness World Record, an Egyptian man, Magdy Eissa, created a new world record for visiting all seven wonders of the world in 6 days, 11 hours, and 52 minutes. This was quicker by four and a half hours than the last record set by an Englishman, Jamie McDonald, last year.

Eissa started with the Great Wall of China. Then he visited India’s Taj Mahal, followed by the ancient city of Petra in Jordan, Rome’s Colosseum, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, Machu Picchu in Peru, and finally the ancient Mayan city of Chichén Itzá in Mexico.

Only public transport could be used to cover this monumental journey to set a world record as per Guinness World Records. The man took one and a half years to plan this journey. He had to navigate through flights, buses, trains, and subways and also walk between these transportation hubs and wonders. He wanted a concrete plan, as any mistake would derail his whole journey. He faced various challenges, especially when he reached Machu Pichu in Peru, as it required multiple public transportation options apart from walking.

Then he overslept and missed a public bus to Petra, and finding public transport was not easy there as the area was served by private operators. He was about to miss the seventh world as he arrived late at the airport and check-in counters were closed, but listening to his story of creating a world record, the counters reopened and he boarded the flight. This journey was never easy, but he was fortunate to complete it and set a new record. When he was about to return to Cairo (his home), it took him two days due to flight cancellations.

Magdy felt an immense sense of self-accomplishment as he completed his childhood dream of visiting the seven wonders of the world, and in the process of achieving it, he set a world record. Amidst this journey, he met a familiar face. He met his childhood friend, whom he hadn’t seen or met in years. In between meeting his old friend or traveling to new places, he found a moment to escape and live a life without any stress.

During his journey, he used his skills in problem-solving and pace to remove barriers and complete his tour. Not just Magdy, but every one of us should travel to develop problem-solving skills and live a life without any pressure or stress. We should travel as it gives a broader perspective of the world, opens the gate to new ideas, thoughts, and imaginations, and improves the way we live our lives.
