IAS officer Krati Raj disguised herself as a patient to conduct a surprise inspection at a government health centre in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad on March 12. Pictures and videos of the IAS officer entering the community health centre in Dida Mai went viral on social media.
The IAS officer covered her face with a dupatta and engaged in a conversation with the people at the centre. She decided to do so after receiving several complaints regarding the inconveniences faced by patients at the centre.
Disguised in a veil, she queued up, interacted with the doctor, and inspected the facility, only to find numerous shortcomings. Among her findings were expired medicines in the stock and an overall disregard for hygiene and proper patient care.
"I received a complaint regarding the Dida Mai health centre. The person said that the doctor was not present even after 10am to administer the injection for patient who was severely injured. I went there anonymously in a veil. The doctor's behaviour was not appropriate. Most of the medicines in the stock room were expired. Cleanliness was also not maintained," Krati Raj said.
In another video, Krati Raj was seen throwing expired medicines from the stock room while reprimanding the authorities present.
Krati Raj is the Firozabad Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar).
