JJ News Desk

A 20-year-old man from Delhi allegedly murdered his friend on January 17 after the latter forced him to perform unnatural sex acts, said police, adding that the former also crushed his head with a stone.

The accused, a native of Bihar, lived in the Khoya Mandi ‘rain basera (night shelter)’ in Mori Gate. He was apprehended from Patna on Monday, reported news agency, PTI.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) MK Meena said the police received a PCR call on January 19 about a body lying at the Mori Gate DDA park. The body had blood clots over the mouth and cut marks above the eye. After a forensic examination of the spot, the police shifted the body to a mortuary and registered a murder case.

It was revealed that a fight broke between Rajesh and the victim Pramod Kumar Shukla on January 17 at DDA Park, Mori Gate. After that, efforts were made to trace Rajesh to verify the facts and it was revealed that Rajesh had left the area on January 17 and gone to an unknown place, reported ANI.

A police team analysed more than 50 CCTV cameras and, with local intelligence, identified the victim as Pramod Kumar Shukla of Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district. “Shukla worked at a shop in the Khoya Mandi and lived in a night shelter,” Meena said.

A further probe revealed that Shukla was last seen with one Rajesh, who was then apprehended from Patna on January 26 and thereafter, he was brought to Kashmere Gate police station and interrogated.

Upon interrogation, Rajesh disclosed that Shukla used to pressure him to perform unnatural sex acts.

The accused took victim’s keypad cell phone and stole Rs 18,500 after killing the latter. At the Old Delhi Railway Station, he earned Rs 400 by selling the victim’s mobile phone and then took a train to Amritsar, Punjab, in order to avoid being arrested.

He used the stolen money to buy a cell phone for Rs 10,000 after arriving in Amritsar, Punjab. The cash memo slip for the phone and the equivalent amount have been obtained from the phone’s dealer, reported ANI.
