A 50-year-old man and his four daughters, all of whom were specially abled, were found dead in their rented home in Delhi's Rangpuri area on Friday morning. Police suspect a suicide pact.

The victims were identified as Hira Lal, the father, and his daughters Neetu (18), Nishi (15), Neeru (10), and Nidhi (8).

According to police, Hira Lal, a carpenter, had been living alone with his daughters since his wife's death a year ago. All four daughters had disabilities: Neetu was visually impaired, Nishi had difficulty walking, and the nature of the other daughters' disabilities was still under investigation.

CCTV footage showed Hira Lal entering the house on September 24. After that, nobody was seen entering or leaving the premises.

When police arrived at the scene on Friday, they found the door locked from the inside. The Delhi Fire Service was called to break open the door, and the bodies of all five were found inside.

While the bodies of the girls were in the bedroom, their father's body was in a different room. All five were foaming at the mouth.

Pouches of a poisonous substance were found near the bodies, and tetra packs of juice and a bottle of water were found in the room's dustbin.

The bodies were sent for a post-mortem examination. While initial investigations suggest a suicide pact, police are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
