Delhi cop seen kicking Muslim men offering namaz on road in Inderlok, suspended

A video of a Delhi cop kicking Muslim men offering Friday prayers on the road has sparked outrage. The official was suspended with immediate effect.

A large crowd gathered at a mosque in Delhi’s Inderlok area on Friday, leading to several men praying on the road due to overcrowding.

The action sparked huge outrage, with the crowd surrounding the cop and objecting to his behaviour.

In response to the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) MK Meena said that an enquiry into the matter has been initiated. The official has been suspended with immediate effect and disciplinary action will also be taken, the DCP said.

A video from the Inderlok area showed a crowd gathered on the road, with the police personnel deployed there trying to maintain law and order.
