A Delhi-bound British Airways flight headed for Delhi, returned to London on Tuesday due to a minor technical issue, the airline said in a statement.

The flight, ICAG.L Boeing BA.N 787 Dreamliner, landed safely at Heathrow Airport, with all passengers disembarking as normal, the airline was quoted as saying in the statement by news agency Reuters.

Recently, an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Paris with 389 passengers and 13 crew members onboard caught fire just minutes after taking off from Toronto Pearson International Airport. The incident, which was caught on camera, unfolded after the Boeing 777 jet took off from Toronto on June 5.

Similarly, on May21, one passenger was killed and 30 injured after a Singapore Airlines flight from London hit severe turbulence en route on Tuesday, forcing it to make an emergency landing in Bangkok, officials and the airline said.

The flight fell into an air pocket while cabin crew was serving breakfast before it encountered turbulence, prompting the pilots to request an emergency landing, Suvarnabhumi airport general manager Kittipong Kittikachorn told a press conference.
