A dental student has been arrested for allegedly placing a spy camera at a woman's house and secretly filming her in Chennai. The woman had been living in the rented accomodation with her husband for years.

The incident came to light on Tuesday (January 30) when the woman noticed an unusual red light emanating from what appeared to be a regular pen, while she was cleaning her room. Alarmed by the finding, she sought her husband's attention to the device.

After returning home from work, her husband examined the suspicious 'pen', only to discover that it was a covert recording device.

The couple accessed the contents of the 'pen', which revealed multiple instances of the woman being recorded without her consent while changing clothes.

The couple then filed a complaint with the police.

According to the police, the spy camera was allegedly placed at the woman's house by the dental student, identified as Ibrahim, who is also the son of the building owner.

Ibrahim was later arrested, and further investigation into the case is currently underway.
