An 18-year-old boy, the son of a police official, was on Saturday found dead under suspicious conditions in Patna, police said.

The incident came to light on Saturday (June 8) morning after the police received an alert about a body in a locked flat in the city's AG Coloney. Upon receiving the alert, a police team reached the spot and sent the body of the teenager for postmortem.

During the search, the forensic team of Patna Police received traces of alcohol and a used condom from the flat.

Speaking about the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Patna Police, Saket Kumar, said that prima facie it was suspected that a party was organised in the flat by three to four people where an altercation broke out, leading to the death of the teenager.

On being asked about the details of the 18-year-old, DSP Kumar said that he was the son of a police official, and had recently graduated from the city's DAV college.

"We spoke to his parents, and according to them, he left the home saying that he was going to a birthday party of one of his friends," DSP Kumar said.

"A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC in the matter, and we are waiting for the post-mortem report. The CCTV footage of the areas has also been scanned. We are investigating the case from all angles," he added.
