JJ News Desk

The Gujarat Police on Monday arrested four Islamic State terrorists at Ahmedabad airport. All four terrorists are Sri Lankan nationals and were tasked to target sites important to Jews, sources said.

The ISIS operatives first arrived in Chennai from Colombo and later reached Ahmedabad, sources said.

According to sources, they were waiting for a message from their Pakistani handlers at the Ahmedabad airport when they were caught by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the Gujarat Police.

Some Pakistan-made weapons were also received from the possession of the terrorists.

Earlier in April, the Gujarat ATS and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested 14 Pakistani nationals off the Gujarat coast and seized 86 kilogram of contraband drugs worth Rs 602 crore from their possession.

Before that, the NCB busted three labs manufacturing the banned drug mephedrone, popularly known as 'meow meow', in Gujarat and Rajasthan, and arrested seven people in connection with the matter.
