19-year-old Dies of Heart Attack While Practising Garba in Gujarat’s Jamnagar

A 19-year-old boy died of suspected cardiac failure while playing Garba in Gujarat’s Jamnagar. The incident took place on Monday night when the boy, identified as Vinit Kunvariya, an engineering student, was practising garba in a class in the Patel Park area for a Navratri event.

According to police, Vinit suddenly collapsed after completing the first round. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital, from where he was referred to GG Hospital where he was declared dead.

Vinit’s Garba trainer Dharmesh Rathod said he had been coming to the classes for the past two months and was doing well, a TOI report said.

“Vinit had been coming to my garba classes for the past two months and was doing well. On Monday too, we were all enjoying ourselves when he suddenly collapsed on the ground We called a 108 ambulance and took him to the hospital but unfortunately, we could not save him,” he said.

In a similar incident, a 19-year-old youth died after collapsing due to cardiac arrest while running on a treadmill in a gym in Ghaziabad, earlier this month. The CCTV clip of the unfortunate incident that took place in Saraswati Vihar went viral on social media.

In the footage, Singh was seen slowing down on the treadmill and gradually losing consciousness, eventually collapsing on the machine. Other gym-goers, who were present at the scene rushed to pick him up and tried to revive him but all in vain.
