JJ News Desk

Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has decided to suspend his 2024 US Presidential bid.

The 38-year-old entrepreneur made the announcement on Tuesday after former US President Donald Trump won the Iowa caucus.

The biotech entrepreneur said that he is ending his campaign for the Republican nomination after a disappointing finish in Iowa’s leadoff caucuses.

"This entire campaign is about speaking the TRUTH. We did not achieve our goal tonight & we need an America-First patriot in the White House. The people spoke loud & clear about who they want. Tonight I am suspending my campaign and endorsing Donald J. Trump and will do everything I can to make sure he is the next U.S. President. I am enormously proud of this team, this movement, and our country," Ramaswamy wrote on X (formerly Twitter)..

Ramaswamy endorsed his rival, Trump, vowing to support him even if he was convicted of felonies. Trump secured a resounding victory in the first 2024 Republican Presidential contest in Iowa on Monday.

“Earlier tonight, I called Donald Trump to tell him that I congratulate him on his victory. And now going forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency,” he said.

As per CNN projections, Trump is winning the Iowa caucuses. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is in second place, followed by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in third place. Trump has over 55,000 votes, DeSantis has over 23,000 votes, Haley has over 20,000 votes, and Ramaswamy is in fourth place with just over 8,000 votes.
