Hulk Hogan jokes about Kamala Harris's Indian heritage, says 'body slam' her

JJ News Desk

Hulk Hogan, a legendary WWE wrestler and supporter of former President Donald Trump, joked about US Vice President and Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her Indian heritage. He even joked about body-slamming her and referred to his signature wrestling move during an event at the Thirsty Cowboy bar in Ohio, US. Hogan was promoting his new beer at the time.

Kamala Harris, 59, is an Indian-American politician.

During his promotional event for the new beer on Monday, Hogan made several controversial statements, including, "Want me to body slam somebody? You want me to body slam Kamala Harris?" and "Is Kamala a chameleon? Is she Indian?" reported the New York Post.

He also referred to his signature wrestling move and asked his fans, "You want me to drop the leg on Kamala?"

This incident follows Hogan's fervent speech in support of Trump, 77, at the Republican National Convention just a month ago.

During the event in Milwaukee, Hogan dramatically ripped off his shirt to reveal a Trump-Vance tank top while delivering an intense onstage speech.

Hogan even said that his remarks would likely stir up a lot of backlash, but then he quipped, "That was not me. That was the beer talking," according to the Daily Mail.

TRUMP AND VANCE RIDICULED HARRIS ON ETHNICITY

Harris whose mother is Indian-American and father is Jamaican-American, has faced similar ethnic scrutiny by the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance before.

Trump has escalated his personal attacks on the Vice President since she succeeded President Joe Biden in late July.

In a heated interview with a Black journalists' association, he remarked that the Democratic nominee "just happened to turn Black".

"She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?" Trump said.

Trump's running mate has defended his comments earlier and called Kamala Harris a "chameleon".
