Kannada actor Chetan Chandra seriously injured in mob attack, seeks justice

Kannada actor Chetan Chandra was attacked by a gang of 20 people in Bengaluru. He shared a video explaining his ordeal and sought justice.

Kannada actor Chetan Chandra was attacked by an angry gang on Sunday, May 12. The incident took place in Kaggalipura, Bengaluru. He shared a video on Instagram where he opened up about his harrowing experience. He explained that he and his mother were returning from a temple on Mother's Day when the attack happened. His nose was broken, and he shared a video with blood stains on his face and dress.

Sharing the video, Chetan Chandra wrote, "Very bad experience, need justice (sic)," with a folded-hands emoji.

He said that a seemingly drunk person followed him and damaged his car. Chetan said, "I saw that a man was trying to rob them. So, I approached him regarding the car damage. A few minutes later, a group of 20 people, including a woman, gathered and started assaulting me."

Chetan went live on Instagram and talked about the injuries he suffered. "Look at what happened to me today. They attacked me and broke my nose. I received initial treatment from the police. However, the gang returned and damaged my car yet again. It was a terrible experience," he explained.

Chetan Chandra immediately approached the police to file a complaint. Following the complaint, a case has been registered at the Kaggalipura police station. This incident was a case of road rage, as the accused were drunk and attempting to race ahead the actor's vehicle. One suspect has been arrested, and more will be apprehended as the investigation progresses.

Known for his television serial, 'Sathyam Shivam Sundaram', he has also acted in many films.

Chetan Chandra's mob attack has raised concerns about safety in Bengaluru.
