TV actor Dolly Sohi dies at 48 due to cervical cancer, hours after sister's death

Actor Dolly Sohi died earlier this morning, March 8, after a battle with cervical cancer. She was 48. Her sister Amandeep Sohi, also an actor, died on Thursday, March 7, after being diagnosed with jaundice. Dolly was keeping unwell for a month.

Her brother, Mannu Sohi, confirmed the news with India Today and shared that the family is devastated losing the sisters in a matter of few hours. He also shared that Dolly's funeral will be held in the afternoon.

“Dolly passed away around 4am this morning. Both, Dolly and Amandeep were admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Mumbai. Amandeep passed away yesterday and now Dolly. We are completely devastated,” Mannu shared.

Her family also issued a statement informing about the actor’s death that read, “Our beloved Dolly has left for her heavenly abode today early morning. We are in a state of shock with the loss. The final rites shall be conducted today afternoon. Will share further details.”

Dolly had shared a photo last year after a chemotherapy session. It read, “THANK U EVERYONE FOR SENDING YOUR LOVE AND PRAYERS Life has been a Roller Coaster lately, But if u have the strength to fight with it then ur journey becomes easier. It’s up to u what do u choose to be A Victim Of Journey (CANCER) Or A Survivor Of Journey (sic).”

Dolly has been a part of shows like ‘Jhanak’, ‘Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi’ and ‘Khoob Ladi Mardaani...Jhansi Ki Rani’. She is survived by her teenage daughter.
