Singer Adnan Sami's mother, Begum Naureen Sami Khan, died on Monday, October 7. She was 77. The singer expressed his grief and sorrow on social media while praying for her "departed soul" in a heartfelt note. He didn't share the cause of his mother's death.
Sharing a picture of his mother, Adnan wrote, "It’s with the greatest sadness & infinite sorrow that I announce the demise of our beloved Mother, Begum Naureen Sami Khan (sic)."
The 'Lift Karadey' singer added, "We are overtaken by profound grief. She was an incredible lady who shared love & joy with everyone she touched. We will miss her immensely. Kindly say a prayer for her departed soul. (sic)."
Adnan Sami concluded, "May Allah SWT bless our dearest Mother in Jannat-ul-Firdaus... Ameen..."
As the singer shared the news, his fans offered their condolences in the comments section. An Instagram user wrote, "So sorry for your loss. Om Shanti (sic)." Actor Mini Mathur wrote, "I’m so, so sorry for your loss, dear Adnan, Roya, and Medina. Wishing strength to the family (sic)."
The musician-singer, an Indian citizen now, has lent his vocals to many Bollywood songs including "Tu Sirf Mera Mehboob," "Aye Udi Udi Udi," "Gela Gela Gela," and "Bhar Do Jholi Meri," among others.
