SS Rajamouli's Oscar-award winning film, 'RRR', is making waves once again. The film will be screened in Japan on March 18 and the advance booking for the special show opened on March 13. The tickets for the show were sold out in less than a minute.

As reported earlier, SS Rajamouli will be attending the show in Japan next week.

The official X (formerly Twitter) of 'RRR' mentioned that the film has been running in theatres in Japan for the past one and a half years.

Their post read, "It's been close to 1.5 years since the theatrical release in Japan. Since then, it's still running in theaters, and the show on March 18th sold out in less than a minute. Absolute RRRAMPAGE... #RRRinJapan #RRRMovie (sic)."

The 'RRR' team promoted the film in October 2022 in Japan. SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR and Ram Charan, along with their partners were in the country for the promotions. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there were certain restrictions at that time.

Now that the pandemic restrictions are lifted, SS Rajamouli is all set to head to Japan to watch the screening of 'RRR' in Japan on March 18. The film will be screened at Shinjuku Wald 9 and Shinjuku Piccadilly.

Apart from attending the screening, SS Rajamouli will also interact with the Japanese fans.

'RRR', starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, is a period action drama that talks about India's fight against the Britishers for freedom. SS Rajamouli also hinted at a possible sequel to the film. His father and screenwriter, Vijayendra Prasad, mentioned that the script work was underway.

'Naatu Naatu' from 'RRR' won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 2023. The film also won many awards at international award shows, including the Golden Globes.
