As the 77th Cannes Film Festival prepares to lower its curtain, Bollywood actor Preity Zinta made a splash on the prestigious event's red carpet. She dazzled in a pink-coloured saree as she arrived for the screening of the film 'La Plus Precieuse des Marchandises' (The Most Precious of Cargoes).

Preity looked stunning in a Seema Gujral-designed, embellished saree. Describing her look as "simple yet with a little bit of sparkle," Preity expressed her excitement about being at the Cannes Film Festival after a long time.

"It's wonderful to be here after a long time. I am excited to be here," she told Brut India. Preity also took selfies with fans on the red carpet.

Earlier, Preity shared another look as she attended the gala event in the South of France. She posed for a photoshoot by the riverside and later shared pictures from the same on social media. Sharing the pictures, Preity wrote, "Oh Cannes, so happy to be back," and added a heart emoji. The 'Koi Mil Gaya' star looked gorgeous in a white pearl gown.

Preity Zinta is attending Cannes to present the Pierre Angenieux ExcelLens in Cinematography award to DOP Santosh Sivan. She has previously collaborated with the cinematographer in Mani Ratnam's film 'Dil Se,' alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She will reunite with Sivan in Rajkumar Santoshi's upcoming period drama 'Lahore 1947.'

Speaking to DD India on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival, Preity elaborated on why she took a six-year-long break from movies. She said that 'women have a biological clock' and that she 'wanted to have children.' " "I didn't want to do a film. I was focusing on business, I wanted to focus on my personal life. People forget that for women, as actors, your craft is important, you want a body of work, but you have a biological clock," she said.

Preity departed for Cannes on Wednesday, and a video from the airport captured her hugging her husband Gene Goodenough before her departure.

Preity Zinta made her Cannes debut in 2006 and later returned to the festival as a brand ambassador for a watch brand.
