Shah Rukh Khan has beaten his own record. His new release, Jawan, has overtaken Pathaan to deliver the biggest opening ever for a Hindi-language film. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jawan made approximately Rs 75 crore on day one, of which approximately Rs 65 crore has come from the Hindi version, with the remaining Rs 10 crore coming from the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions.
Meanwhile, Jawan also features Deepika Padukone in a special appearance. The film is presented by Red Chillies Entertainment and is produced by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma.
Jawan stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. The film is directed by Atlee and has created a frenzy at the box office.
The film also boasts a star cast of Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, and Aaliyah Qureshi.
The film’s first show kicked off at 6 am amid massive celebrations.
Worldwide, the film was released in around 10,000 screens. Pinkvilla reports that Jawan is expected to gross at least Rs 45 crore on day one globally, which should take its opening day total to at least Rs 120 crore. Jawan had the best pre-sales of any Hindi film, and is now the fourth-biggest opener in the history of Indian cinema, behind RRR (Rs 223.5 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 214.5 crore) and KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 164.5 crore).
