Director Nag Ashwin’s film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ expected to cross Rs 600 crore mark globally on Box Office Day 5 of release

Prabhas and Director Nag Ashwin sci-fi movie “Kalki 2898 AD” continues its dominance at the box office, nearing a global total of 600 crore. In just five days of release in India the film collected Rs 343 crore nett.

Early indications suggest that Telugu and Hindi versions of the movie are leading domestically as compared to other languages. Ever since it’s released in theatres on July 27 the film has been enjoying a record breaking success. 

In just four days Kalki 2898 AD grossed an impressive Rs 555 crore announced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the film production house. On its fifth day at the box office the film added another Rs 35 crore nett in India, bringing its domestic total of Rs 343.6 crore in nett. The movie is likely to surpass Rs 600 crore worldwide by the end of the day, with the Telugu and Hindi versions leading in India.

Breaking down the earning by language “Kalki 2998 AD”: Telugu version earned Rs 182 crore, the Hindi version Rs 128 crore on Monday. Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannadda versions amassed Rs 20.3 crore, Rs 11.2 crore and Rs 2.1 crore, respectively.

“Kalki 2898 AD” experienced strong occupancy of 47.18% with the Telugu version in India on July 1, with the maximum turnout during evening and night shows. While weekdays performance remains the same.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is not just finding success in India by also performing quite well in Russia. Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ blends action with Indian mythology. Starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Hassan in lead roles. While Shobhana Pasupathy, Saswata Chatterjee, Anna Ben, Disha Patani and Brahmandam feature in supporting roles. The film reportedly had a budget of Rs 600 crore to produce.
