The domestic food market is expected to hit $1,274 billion by 2027

CII launches a market report that estimates growth of over 47% in the domestic food market to reach 1,274 billion USD by 2027.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non-governmental organization that is supported by Danfoss India, released a report that determines the expected growth of the domestic food market by 2027. Over 47% growth is required in order to touch USD 1,274 billion. The food processing industry in India oversees different innovative startups that appear with cutting-edge technology. Moreover, Danfoss India is a marketing leader who works to provide innovative solutions in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, as well as the subordinate of Denmark-headquartered engineering major Danfoss. The report often released by CII-Food Production 2024 involves a prospective hold by southern states for the food processing industry. With over 33% share by quantity and 27% by value, Tamil Nadu leads Indian exports of processed fruits, juices, and nuts. The report stated that about 2,08,370 metric tons worth USD 220.81 million were also exported by Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, the study includes insights about emerging trends, technologies, and different export opportunities that enable businesses to make informed decisions and drive into the sector’s potential. The food processing sector in South India is taking a step towards revolution with different innovations like millets, ready-to-eat foods, and plant-based dairy substitutes, providing economic opportunities for farmers. Ravichandran Purushothaman, chairman of the CII National Council for Cold Chain and Agri Logistics, said that technology is a tool for growth that ensures the highest safety measures and quality, which propels Indian exports to a global stage.

He also stated that at Danfoss India, the organization is quite excited to be a part of this transformative journey, including sustainable food processing solutions that will frame the future of Indian agriculture and the food sector.
