Forbes has released its latest 'World's Billionaires List', which features 200 Indians, an increase from 169 the previous year.
These Indians have a collective wealth of $954 billion, marking a 41% increase from $675 billion recorded in 2023.
Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, tops the list of the richest Indians with a net worth of $116 billion. He is the ninth-richest individual globally and holds the title of being both India's and Asia's richest person.
Ambani's net worth increased 39.76%, making him the first Indian to feature in the $100 billion club.
Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, secures the second spot among India's richest, with a net worth of $84 billion.
Among the notable mentions is Savitri Jindal, emerging as India's richest woman with a net worth of $33.5 billion, ascending from her sixth position last year to the fourth spot this time around.
The Forbes 2024 list also introduces 25 new Indian billionaires, including prominent figures like Naresh Trehan, Ramesh Kunhikannan, and Renuka Jagtiani, while some, like Byju Raveendran and Rohiqa Mistry, have seen their names drop off the list.
The global standings are led by Bernard Arnault and family, owning a net worth of $233 billion, followed closely by Elon Musk ($195 billion), Jeff Bezos ($194 billion), Mark Zuckerberg ($177 billion), and Larry Ellison ($114 billion).
India's elite top ten on the Forbes World's Billionaires List 2024 features the likes Shiv Nadar, Dilip Shanghvi, Cyrus Poonawalla, Kushal Pal Singh, Kumar Birla, Radhakishan Damani, and Lakshmi Mittal.
