Carl Zeiss makes huge investment in India for establishing largest lens manufacturing factory globally

Carl Zeiss is one of the famous big tech companies for selling optical instruments with a turnover of about dollar 10 billion. In India, its headquarters are situated in Bengaluru. Germany’s medical technology and lenses company is going to establish up one of its biggest lens factories in Bengaluru.

Now, the company is setting up a new plant with an average expenditure of about 2500 crore. The new plant will setup in Bangalore and also aims to produce five times better than the previous lens plant setup. Also, the company is improving its research and developmental activities. Miguel G. Diaz (Managing director of India business) often argued in an interview that in order to increase their production the company chooses India as a hub to work on their solutions. He also added that India is one of the attractive destinations especially for business purpose and a god place for doing investments.

As the economy is growing rapidly, the company needs manpower resources. Moreover, the company has planned to double-up the tasks for the next two and half years. Last year, the company has done a business of vision care lenses of about 1800 crore. The company works on supplying Industrial Quality Solutions including research microscopy products. The company also served products including ophthalmic devices and cinema and photo lenses.

On research and developmental basis, the company has involved the Centre of Application Research India for sanctioning medical practitioners and surgeons worldwide for providing more valuable solutions than other centres who works on Vision technology and services. Chief Financial Officer of Zeiss India, Dhaval Radia often argued that the mass spectacle lenses which are being manufactured in India are not only sold for domestic purposes but also meant to sold globally.

Meanwhile, apart from Germany, the India manufacturing market services were set out in other countries comprising; US, South Korea, China, Australia, Philippines, Russia, Brazil, UAE, etc.
