Chief Operating Officer and one of the founding members of the troubled ed-tech giant BYJU'S, Mrinal Mohit, resigns from the company, making an end to his over a decade long illustrious career at India's biggest ed-tech startup. Jaano Junction learned this through internal sources of the company.

On 20 September, Wednesday, CEO and founder Byju Raveendran addressed the entire staff of his company through an email about Mohit's departure from the company. In that email, Raveendran also mentioned that former UpGrad CEO Arjun Mohan will return to BYJU'S to fill Mohit's void.

Byju Raveendran reveals in an internal email that Mrinal Mohit has been leaving BYJU'S in order to pursue his "personal aspirations". However, Jaano Junction reached out to some higher raking employees in the company who revealed that there has been some politics and bad-blood between the founding members. "Operational disagreements, negative media reportage and dealings with investors may have led to such desperate organisational actions", reveals an employee to Jaano Junction who chose to stay anonymous. "But I'm not really not sure of exact reasons", the employee added.

However, as of now, there are no official statement or public announcement by BYJU'S regarding the resignation of Mrinal Mohit, re-joining of Arjun Mohan or any other information in this matter.

As per an article by The Economic Times, before his UpGrad stint, Arjun Mohan had spent a little over 11 years at Byju’s, where his last designation was chief business officer. Before that, he had worked at several Tata group companies.
